ANd their poll figures still bump along the bottom, despite the, ahem, high-profile defections, the hysteria of NotRev Stu and the optimism of his BTL disciples.

It is very imperfect but in terms of political parties, there really is only one pro-indy show in town.

Brian Cox seems like a good guy, but he seems to sign up for every tinpot thing that comes his way. Surely the dosh from Succession is enough to see him comfortably into retirement?

He certainly gives that impression - the sheer hate for the SNP and Nicola in particular. Look at the hysterical tone of the recent stories and the pettiness of the current one. He'd get a job on the Mail or Express no worries, now.

Of course, his adoring followers think he's only trashing the SNP so that ALBA can lead Scotland to independence.

Aye, right.

Been a few years now and they still don't seem to be getting much traction. For the disillusioned SNP vote they're competing with both Labour and 'f**k it, none of the above' and coming in a distant third.

Would it be fair to say that with recent events, Alba may finally see a spike in support, even if it's just a small one?

You imagine a lot of SNP diehards who gave the Greens their second vote will no longer do that. Both votes SNP is a waste, so maybe Alba do now get those precious lost votes.

If the UK general election comes first, they may even be a vehicle for a protest vote just to give the SNP a wee warning from pro-Indy voters.

Be interesting to see polling figures in a month.

Yep, they might even get up to 1.5%

Abla's the supermarket chain formerly owned by WalMart, right?

I can see the confusion, considering how many people call it Ablar.

I thought it was Alpa? Or is it Alapa?

More Scottish folk care about football than politics. Politics is the refuge of the oddballs in our society. Maybe if they got some ex-footballers to stand as candidates that would work? Failing that get some reality stars in.

Doesn’t everyone love a sleepy 😴 cuddle 🍆 ? No…

Has any politician ever actually been elected into a position while standing for Alba? Their two MPs and one MSP were both defections from the SNP. Do they have any councillors?

Two councilors currently. Chris Cullen (Ayr East - elected as SNP) & Karl Rosie (Thurso & North West Caitness - elected SNP went independent joined Alba not long after).
