Michael W
Lothian buses. 15 minutes late, thus I ended up being late for whatever patronising talk I came into uni for today. I hate walking in late and causing a disruption; so I've more or less wasted my time getting up at the back of 6. Boo.
Dunning1874
So last night I fired on the Xbox 360 for the first time in a while, having just bought Saints Row 2. I was flying through the activities, having a right laugh with it and got through a fair amount. Then it crashed and I lost it all. This week in general. Scotland got beat, and I'm working on Saturday so can't go to the Morton game. Having had so many away games, when we're finally at home I have to bloody work, so have no football to escape to and distract me from Wednesday night.

The Arch
Had jaegerbombs for the first time last night, and I got seriously smashed. Also, spent £45 on a pristine white Fred Perry polo shirt, and woke up this morning, and it had horrible stains all over it. Gutted.

Nick_BCFC
Just got this emailed through off a mate... "My boss is a bit of a Harley Davidson nutter. He has had a old bike in his garage for years and he has decided to restore it, he rang up a specialist and ordered a couple of parts from them they want to no the serial number so he gave it to them and they said they will call him back. When they called him they were asking him were he got it from and how long he has had it he thought they were going to tell him it were stolen but the didn't they asked him to remove the badge from the head light and see if it had anything rote on the back which it did it said 'to my friend elvis from your mate buddy holly' They told him that they had been searching for this bike for years and that it is probably worth a fortune!" Don't know if its true and it doesn't get on my nerves but I thought i'd share it with you. Edit to add - this is the hundredth one found!! Gutted. You spent £45 on a polo shirt? Madman. Also, Jagerbombs are rank. Jagermeister by itself is the greatest drink on earth, mix it with something and it is poor. Especially Red Bull.

renton
My PHd. I have a meeting with my supervisor today that from my perspective at least, is slightly doom laden. I think the entire concept of my work is now almost fatally hamstrung by the munufacturing limitations of the facilities available to me. He will probably attempt to fob me off with some vague reference to contacts that can get it sorted for me... or possibly worse he will agree with me. I want to discuss with him where he thinks the PHd is going and what I can expect from the year ahead. At the moment I am completely demotivated and I think any talk on the subject of year long plans is too heavy for him.... Added to that there is a job going in Stirling that is right up my street, designing embedded systems for near patient biomedical devices. I can do it and as far as I can tell, have pretty much all of the qualities they desire apart from familiarity with the particular microcontroller they use (something that I can overcome).... I would no doubt be far down the list for getting the job and to apply and get it would mean the end of trying for my doctorate, to apply and fail would mean letting my PHd supervisor know I was looking for an out with all the complications and motivational hazards that would have in my current occupation. I'm pretty much falling between two stools on this. Edited September 11, 2009 by renton
vikingTON
Jagerbombs are fucking rank. There's also a suprisingly small amount of alcohol in them, and are expensive. 0/3 Edited September 11, 2009 by vikingTON
Toma_BullyWee
Jagerbombs are fucking rank. There's also a suprisingly small amount of alcohol in them, and are expensive. 0/3 As Dunning said though, on it's own it is brilliant. I remember having a bottle stuffed in my coat away to Livi a few years ago as it was my birthday. I ran down to the toilet, poured my bovril down the pan and filled the cup with Jagermeister. I had a good day.
Dunning1874
Jagerbombs are quality. You out tonight by the way? Probably not, I think one of my mates has an empty so I'll be heading there, and I was in Red 2 nights in a row last weekend anyway which is poor form that shouldn't repeated. I've got work at 8 tomorrow morning, that's my excuse. I'll probably end in the Jimmy then Red on Saturday night though, always ends up being that way no matter what the plan is. As Dunning said though, on it's own it is brilliant. I remember having a bottle stuffed in my coat away to Livi a few years ago as it was my birthday. I ran down to the toilet, poured my bovril down the pan and filled the cup with Jagermeister. I had a good day. You've just shown me the way to make First Division games interesting again. That is a brilliant plan which should be done every weekend up and down the country.

At the moment I am completely demotivated and I think any talk on the subject of year long plans is too heavy for him.... We all have spells like this though, where it seems it will never work. I went through a real bad spell at the start of this year, where I was so close to just walking out. I even had an email open to my old work asking if I could go back there again. I didn't think it would ever come together, and I just didn't care about my work. It took real effort to stick it out, and after a few months, I've started to get slightly enthused again. I can't imagine the concept of discussing year long plans with my supervisor though. I've now probably had a sum total of 20 minutes worth of meetings with him since May! Chin up lad, you're just in a trough, surely you can soar free once more?
