It most certainly was! In the days when tickets to the football were a fraction of the price they are now, and the weekly trip to Easter Rd/Tynecastle was just part and parcel of the working man's Saturday (followed, of course, by the boozer). It wasn't as if you supported the other team - you still had a love for your own team, you just also had a love for the footballing experience in general. And there were, of course, skirmishes, but none of the "I hate them so much I'd prefer to sprinkle Jim Traynor's bunion shavings on my pasta than shake their hand" thing. Or at the very least, it wasn't as brash as it has been latterly.

Killie v Hibs

I've often wondered if 'shiteing' should really be spelt 'shiting'. Why keep the 'e'? We don't do it with 'wire' and 'wiring'... or 'rare' and 'raring'... or 'Killie will be firing Dyer after an abysmal 6-0 drubbing'. -

Would you be working offshore though? I'm guessing you wouldn't be seeing much of the country anyway. Angola is very scenic, and Luanda a very liveable capital. My only experience of Nigeria is Abuja, which is a bit of a pit. But Lagos is meant to be buzzing, very exciting place to live. We should move this to the Travel thread. My apologies to the learned denizens of the Indyref2 thread.

Luckily? Angola is a beautiful country and well worth a visit!

Said it from the very beginning of the season. This is Sevco's season to lose. Celtic have failed to improve during the Banter Years, and instead regressed to the point of welcoming back Neil Lennon. It's over. 10 in a row (which isn't really something to be proud of anyway) is dead in the water.

To be fair, the blue side of Glasgow seems to play the victim card as much as the green side these days. I had begun to think it was a weegie thing, but then... Hearts.

Has this rumour ever been substantiated? Would be delicious if true.

I moderately appreciate the cut of your jib. The winning answer for April 1984 was Lionel Richie.
