Craig fae the Vale
Went to see Moneypenny, a band performing genre spanning songs by female fronted artists, in the Vale tonight. Excellent band, shame about the massive, loud, obnoxious hen party who had pretty much taken over the pub.
Harry Kinnear
Got the Bunnymen with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra start of September. Saw James do the orchestra thing recently and whilst I enjoyed it James slowed most of their stuff down, hoping the Bunnymen don’t go down this route.

I was at that. The rain wasn't too bad and the gig was a lot better than I thought it would be.

Aye, it wasn't too bad in the end weather wise and the orchestra was brilliant.
betting competition
The Delgados was amazing on Saturday although it was a shame about the weather. Hotel was near Kelvingrove Bandstand and reception told me it was only event that they could hear at the hotel. Thought the support in C Duncan was decent.
GrahamJags
Going down to London for Boygenius on Sunday which should be a good day out, with Muna, Ethel Cain and Soak supporting. Saw that Cory Hanson is playing the Moth Club on Saturday too, so I’m happy that I’ll get to see him tour his solo stuff since there’s no Scottish date.

Craig fae the Vale
Got presale tickets for The Used at SWG3 in December. It's post-hardcore heaven over the next six months or so!
Guest
Going to Corey Taylor at the 02 Academy in Glasgow in November, the plan is to stay the night so we can have a drink, any decent recommendations for accommodation near?

Gig on a Sunday so a lot cheaper than a Saturday, basically anywhere in the city centre is fine. I always find Premier Inn are normally the cheapest and decent size rooms. If you want nearest the 02 Academy then St Enoch (10 mins away) one to pick and a wee bit cheaper than Buchanan Galleries. For budget hotels it is also worth looking at Ibis, Motel One and Point a Hotel (bit of a box room but can be the cheapest) Edited August 17, 2023 by betting competition

The Moth Club when jam packed could be the hottest venue on earth. Core of the sun levels of boiling.

Craig fae the Vale
Be Your Own Pet at Broadcast tonight. Absolutely fantastic show. Boundless energy and killer songs both new and old. Glad to have them back after a fifteen year hiatus. Excellent support from Fräulein. They make a lot of noise for a duo.

tongue_tied_danny
I just saw Amyl & The Sniffers at Fatties in Dundee. They blew me away. An insanely good live band. That was a proper gig, absolutely packed with sweat dripping off the ceiling...
