Unpopular opinions.

PnB isn’t as funny as it used to be.

Only an opinion rather than being able to back it up with #facts but think that down to posters with more ‘unconventional’ views being quietly euthanised from the forum for posting their closely held beliefs while under the influence of something strong.

The only evidence I can muster is the PnB Gold section. Not one new thread has been lodged there in more than two years. 2017 had two,   2016 four and 2015 two. And with odd tickle in between, you’ve then got to go back to 2009 to find 15 (fifteen!) threads considered worthy of Gold status.

I think it is now less of a place for society’s outliers and is instead a largely homogenous mass of right on socially responsible do-gooders. Not saying that makes anyone of those a bad person but it lacks, erm, variety.

And I do still read regularly. Always in the hope the next L4L, Deeboy, Supras or other will briefly burn brightly before crashing to earth.

Was about to question this, then checked myself.

Can't believe it's been 3 years since Tony

Wouldn't it have been better to tell them to shove their wee tinplate gong?

Agree. I wish more people would do that.

I seem to remember David Bowie refused an honour. John Lennon sent his back with a sarcastic note.

I will be accepting my own, inevitable, knighthood as apparently it's a good day out and the finger buffet is of an acceptable standard (memo to self: remember to bring my own Big Plate).

Careful, you don’t know who’s been fingering that buffet though.

He also did My Sweet Lord, which is pretty excellent, even though he got done for plagiarism over it.

By Paul Weller for the blatant rip-off from That’s Entertainment.  Got done for foresight as well.

It doesn’t really matter who Scotland gets as a national manager because our players aren’t technically good enough to compete at the highest level despite having a few good players for top sides. We just get various levels of failure. From total failure to nearly qualifying.

The youth setup is where we need to look at.

Untrue. We just reward failure.

"Yes, we lost the second last game but at least we took it to the second last game".

"We done really well to finish fourth.. Considering the group." usually whilst third seeds.

As long as Prince Andrew isn't invited I'll take my chances. Might sneak a few scotch eggs in my pocket for later.

Dunno we seem to think we are good when we aren't.
Its not rewarding failure we sack every manager for failure thinking they are to blame. Yes they make bad selections and tactics sometimes but every scotland manager has been a success elsewhere.
Common factor is our pishness.

Taking away the difference in physical strength (although I wouldn't spill Big Jen Beattie's pint.. actually she's quite nice) it could be argued that many of the Scotland Women's team are technically more gifted on the ball than their male counterparts.

Yeah, I enjoyed watching some of the games as the build up play and technique is really good.

Craig Brown talked about what Iceland did and how much they spent on youth football and facilities. Belgium, France and Germany did the same yet we expect to put a gold ceiling on dodgy foundations and somehow it will work. We’ve lost twenty years by trying this approach.

Never mind the cost of pitch hire, knackered showers and Council  facilities that were last upgraded in celebration of qualifying for the 1974 World Cup, we also expect a lot of our youth to play on pitches covered in dug shite because, you know, people have a right to let their dugs shite on pitches. No wonder kids prefer playstations

Fence off the football and rugby pitches and set aside other parts of the park for dugs to shite on.

Or we could just round up and beat dog owners in the face with a truncheon for letting their filthy pets shite in a public space.
