Locals get wide, hands are thrown all over the shop. Duffy resigns as he feels let down by players. Did local guy not start on Colin McNair and Kenny Brannigan leathered then and their mates ??

Think so. McGivern and Burgess were involved too. I wonder if McGivern was involved as he's a local guy and maybe was seen as a target. Picking on McNair though - big mistake!

Very versatile player too. Mainly left mid but played left back and left wing at times and I'm sure he spent some time as our main striker as well.

Remember that punch up he had with Doyle from Ayr United in front of the Boys enclosure during injury time one game. Though Doyle was going to be hospitalised ! You are right about being played as a striker think it was beside Somner but could be wrong !

Did he not get done with assaulting McGrillen, George Burley and Griffin when he played for Motherwell? AL-FFC
I didnt realise McNair had been through so much: https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/675684/colin-mcnairs-journey-from-playing-in-the-premier-league-to-being-hooked-on-heroin-and-begging-on-the-street/ “But at Motherwell I got in a stupid fight on the training ground, which ended with me getting charged with assaults on Paul McGrillen and George Burley — and a serious assault on Jim Griffin. I was doing it in list sense that if rotated right into a formation it works. To be honest midfield wise the two wide players could play either side quite comfortably and did on a number of occasions.
Shadwell Dog
If you listen to the walking down hope street podcast with Sammy McGivern you get a pretty good idea of what really happened. In regard to Duffy we'd had a poor start to the season and to me he was looking for an easy way out and that was it.
bairn88
Probably won’t happen, but a 2nd tier 14 team league would be great fun

Guest
And to think he was brought to Falkirk as a striker.Hazy memories again, but I am sure his first appearance with us was against Gretna (in Gretna). A pre-season game.
