The Falkirk FC Thread

So basically, it’s disgusting that Falkirk have been “denied” promotion but who gives a f**k about the other teams that were only a few points behind in the play-offs and still themselves had a shot at winning the title.

The level of entitlement is incredible.

I think all playoff sides shouldve been treated the same and given the chance of promotion. Unfortunately teams like Ayr were more desperate to get their hands on their prize money than actually getting a chance at promotion to the top flight.

Our chairman, along with most others, had pretty valid reasons for voting to end the season. And also wanted reconstruction, just not the shan effort Ann Budge had pulled out of her arse.

Try again.

You're chairman didnt seem to have much idea about what was going on when he was interviewed by radio scotland.

It’s not about boycotting anyone. Fans have a finite amount of money (particularly so at the moment). They are perfectly within their rights to decide that they don’t wish to give that money to clubs that (equally within their rights) voted to keep us in this league.

Clubs are not entitled to away supporters’ money.

Nobody said they weren't within their rights or that clubs are entitled to your fans money. It's just funny that you're holding a grudge against part time clubs for voting in their interest and not yours.

So, is it funny that we are holding a grudge or are we well within our rights to hold a grudge? You have expressed both points of view in your reply.

The fact there has been no chat whatsoever about League 1 starting in October makes it highly unlikely that'll be happening.

The SPFL statement yesterday said that discussions remain ongoing. We've made our views clear to them, and I believe that other L1 clubs will be doing the same over the coming week.

Until we know what all those views are I don't think we can say what's likely and what isn't.

It's also possible that those views will change as the lockdown eases over the next couple of months.

If you want to hold a grudge that's up to you, I can still laugh at you for it.

The most likely outcome now imo is that League 1 will start in January and will be 2 rounds of games (1 x home & 1 x away)

The fact there has been no chat whatsoever about League 1 starting in October makes it highly unlikely that'll be happening.

That is why the clubs in the lower leagues should be surveyed to find out if it is financially viable for them to play is a curtailed league, distinct possibility of no crowds etc.

It is only fair that they should be given the opportunity to sit out the season without penalty if they judge it would bankrupt them.

Then teams that are willing to play even with the uncertainty can play in a league with likeminded teams.

It’s funny that you’re holding a grudge against fans for keeping cash in their own pockets and not your clubs pocket.

Same argument really.

What grudge am I holding? I genuinely couldn't give two shiny shites if you visit our ground.

Here's a stupid idea (but less stupid than mothballing 2 whole senior leagues): Have all willing clubs play in an amalgamated League 1/2 with a points handicap in favour of the L1 clubs. Number of rounds to be determined by number of participants, 20-odd fixtures from October as per the current favoured format. League winners promoted and play-offs as normal. Thoughts?

Are there likely to be any L2 clubs willing to play?
