callum-ayr
American Sniper 8/10 Great film, however some stuff is in a different order from the book and a bit different in general. Generally don't read books then watch the film for this reason, but had to with this one. Still a cracker mind you.
Honest_Man#1
M (1931) - 7/10 A german film but had to use subtitles. Can be a bit off putting using them. None the less a good film. Think may be the oldest film I have watched. That's 20 films left to go. Memento next Did you buy the DVD for this?
AberdeenBud
Blackhat. Saw this got absolutely slated as a turkey upon cinema release but I think there's a lot to like about it. Yes, especially in it's first act, it's faced with the problem every tech/cyber thriller has in that a guy staring at a computer screen telling you what's happening is not that exciting, but there's some fabulous moments in it including many of Mann's signatures. 7/10 and worth a look imo.
Honest_Man#1
On this occasion no. How did you watch it? I've been wanting to see it for ages.

Dubbing is far, far, worse imo.
The_Kincardine
You find subtitles off putting? Dubbing is far, far, worse imo. Sake, Bud. Can I possibly agree with you? Dubbing is dreadful. Anyway, for anyone who hasn't seen it Sweet Sixteen is still on IPlayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b007wkc3/sweet-sixteen Good stuff from Ken Loach. Some genuinely funny moments and plenty of good acting. Rotten Tomatoes says, "A bleak, but heartbreaking coming-of-age tale that resonates with truth."
Ira Gaines
Dubbing feels and sounds tacky as f**k. Suppose it works on animated movies. But for live action movies? No.
The_Kincardine
Dubbing feels tacky as f**k. That's dubbin. Some of us are old enough to have applied it to our rugby boots
The OP
Mr Holmes - Fantastic performance from Ian McKellen as a 90 year old and a 60 year old Sherlock Holmes. Not your usual Sherlock Holmes stuff but instead a more melancholy film about an old man coping with memory loss and looking back on his life and (in particular) biggest regret. Some might be put off by the slow pace but I thought it was excellent and kept me engaged throughout. 8/10
Geronimo
Grown Ups 2. Definitely the most God-awful production I've ever witnessed (inb4 Sevco this season). The mere thought of that film's opening scene makes me

D.A.F.C
Mad Max Fury Road Excellent visual spectacle and action film, lacking depth but that's not really important when it's non stop. 8/10
MONKMAN
The last 19 films to go. 5-9 are all superb.
AberdeenBud
#10 is my favourite film of all time atm. Who's list is it, as pretty sure that's not the official imdb top 20. Sure Shawshank is their #1 and they have The Dark Knight ridiculously high.

mizfit
Dodgeball: a true underdog story Standard mid 2000's sitcom. Plenty of moments to smirk at and chuckle to yourself. First I've watched it since the cinema release. Dodging traffic in preparation for dodging a ball
mizfit
Decided to watch happy Gilmore today out of boredom. Never noticed how much American comedies rely on product placements. In first half hour I've spotted: Subway, Boston Bruins, converse, ford, Lacoste, Nike, fruit loops & probably missed a good few others.
mizfit
Ended up noticing more and writing them down, product placements as follows: Espn Budweiser Wilson golf Pepsi Odyssey Motorola Volkswagen Top-flite Spalding Pepsi max Taylor made Callaway
