The government could use boats as well as planes or put on special medicine trains to go through the tunnel. (1)

Medicines already get distributed throughout the country so that's a non issue. (2)

1. Yes, they could, and would , no doubt, in the face of a natural disaster or breakdown of our infrastructure. WE'RE DOING THIS TO OURSELVES!

2. Apart from the fuel issues also mentioned in the Yellowhammer document. Oh, and the stockpiling. Oh, and the "illegitimate economy". Oh, and the riots. WE'RE DOING THIS TO OURSELVES!

Christ almighty, your first line has a whiff of fucking Dunkirk about it.

Exactly...hence the ramping up of Scotophobia by the Tory press...expect every Judge to be traitors come Tuesday.

Exclusive: Traitor judge representing dominant minority Scots that over-ruled the law of 67.5 MILLION caught buying Chardonnay and Spanish chorizo in German supermarket chain

Our Clown Prime Minister thinks he's Winston Churchill, who and where is Adolf?

Nigel or more likely that creepy Richard Tice. I'd put Johnson as more of an enabler and joke figure, like Franz von Papen.

Admittedly a bit of a tangent, but I just saw this story on BBC and couldn't help but switch over to a particular media outlet given the backlash to yesterdays events.  Talk about a red rag to a bull:

Cystic fibrosis patients in England are being DENIED new treatment freely on offer to those in Scotland

sponduli, chester, United Kingdom

The problem is we give money and everything for free to everybody around the world which means there's no money left for us

werfd, Chichester, United Kingdom

They should remember this when they call for their independence. It wont be free then, but maybe we will be able to afford it for our own when were not paying for theirs.

Steve UK taxpayer, hope not EU much longer, United Kingdom

It is becoming ever more apparent that we need England to be independent from the United Kingdom. Being in the UK is holding us back. Why have we no English parliament, or had a referendum on devolution?

eloracbmulp, Manchester, United Kingdom

We ,the ENGLISH taxpayer pay for this. It's outrageous !!!!

red_jeremy_corbyn, Tehran, United Kingdom

No wonder the Scots want to remain part of the UK. Everything paid for by ENGLISH taxpayers

Roger, Portland. Dorset, United Kingdom

So much for a UNITED KINGDOM.

BritLord, Hampshire, United Kingdom

This inequality shouldn't be allowed in the 21st century.

No you don't

No you aren't. Ours, maybe, but Scotland's probably paying for all/most of theirs.

Because you never asked for one. Regional assemblies were booted int touch, IIRC

No taxpayers in any other part of the UK?

No it isn't.

Take it up with your MPs/government.

O.K., equal partners then, 25% voting rights each for NI, Scotland, Wales and England.

Imagine voting in Tory government after Tory government and finding healthcare and other public services aren't being prioritised. It's astounding. Best blame people from another country for all your problems. [/sarcasm]

Brexit in a nutshell.

Pushed by Tories funnily enough.

The latest reports from Europe suggest the UK negotiating team have still not offered any concrete alternatives to the backstop.

Johnson has lied about the reason for prorogation, he’s lied about wanting a deal, he’s lied about progress on a deal being made and he’s lied about movement on the EU side.  All these lies have been repeated in the last few days.

These are not subtle lies; anyone with half a brain can see what’s going on.

Yet by all accounts he’s still ahead in the polls.  It’s fucking depressing.

Churchillian bulldog spirit and bloodyminded doggedness. Clearly.

I don’t want to get philosophical, but society has a very thin veneer.  The post-war generation who claim their forefathers fought against tyranny would be the first to throw truth, democracy and the rule of law under the bus if those virtues didn’t support their prejudices.

To quote apparent modern day philosopher Pete Docherty: “Her old man, He don't like blacks or queers, Yet he's proud we beat the Nazis? How queer”
