I'd like to see us include all youth players and treat them as bounce games. If you genuinely believe that league clubs should be allowed to pick and choose what tournaments they enter you are dafter than first appeared. Can they pick and choose fixtures too? Nothing to play for in April so call it a day.

AlbionMan
I see SPFL web page has renamed last season's cup with this season's sponsor.

It is also about treating companies who are willing to sponsor Scottish football with respect. I doubt you have to play your first team. Dunfermline played the 'colts' agianst Inverness last year.

Would be a good draw if the organisers gave the slightest shit about what supporters think and got rid of the sodding "Colts".
FREDDYFRY
At the risk of repeating myself: Not interested in any game where the team has 'Colts' attached to it I'm afraid. SPFL totally ruined a perfectly good tournament ...Shame on them, not attended any Challeng cup game in new format and never will, which is a shame as was an enjoyable cup tournament up until then for lower league teams
Only one David Marsh
If its motherwell colts I won't attend, I'd much prefer it was opened up to all the Lowland and Highland leagues even the EOS teams if they wanted to change the setup, colts teams add nothing.

You do have to play your first team but that has obviously been looked at flexibly by SPFL thus far

peternapper
If in round 1 HFL & LL supporters showed the same disdain for the Colts inclusion by staying away from games involving them there could be even more embarrassment with crowds in two figures, while maybe 2 men & their dog would not be recorded as a official attendance anything under 100 at a game would be funny. Our man from Berwick would probably be able to come up with the least attended game since the Colts introduction.

The literature sent to the “foreign” teams also caveats that certain dates of the further rounds “depends on competing teams”, which appears to give carte blanche for the Irish teams to play when it suits their season again!

Some clubs it would probably be more beneficial just to pay a fine than the loss they will experience from these matches!
