This must be one of the longest recruitment processes in the SPFL era. Are the managers not keen on are the folk running your club as good as landing a manager as they are opening a stadium?

This is nothing. We sacked Ellis in December 2021 and didn’t have a permanent appointment until Coyle in the March.

...perhaps team selection by the Committee.

I have a programme up in the loft for the first fixture of the season, 70-71 I think, and there is a list announcing the new playing squad. Next to it was that week’s statement from the Committee with a thinly veiled implied threat about the team coach and what they expected of him that season. We’ve never had it so good!

My current favourite theory is the lad Des Buckingham that was spotted at Glasgow Airport and thus rumoured to be the next Celtic manager is infact the soon to be announced next QP manager.

Fits the mould of a young coach who plays good attractive high scoring football with a distinct background in youth development.

He's also the manager who won the Indian top flight the year after OC did so. It all makes sense!!

Interesting Rumours about Buckingham. The talk regarding India is that he’s Never Going Back Again.

QP certainly do look Everywhere when they're appointing a new manager.

Big Love for all these Buckingham theories.
