Quick Question Thread

Anyone done any good Scottish brewery tours I could get my old man for Christmas?

The WEST one on Glasgow Green, the tour doesn't take long as the brewery's pretty small, it's normally the owner who takes you round, and the range and quality of beers is smashing.

Anyone here know anything about food selling licenses?

Say I'm going to get a van and sell food from it in Edinburgh, I'm not but lets just say I am. Does anyone know what I'd need to do to get that going, the buying of a van aside. I'm guessing you need a food selling license, is there anything else you need? Any information anyone has would be extremely useful.

Cheers.

A guy in the year below me was caught with child porn on his computer, but I've always wondered, how do the Police know you've been downloading dodgy stuff?

That boy was a weird child as well, so I expected it from someone like him.

Speak to the Council.

I don't know exactly how the departments are organised & named in Edinburgh, but if you ask for Licensing (re a Street Traders Licence) and Environmental Health (re Food Registration), you would be making a start. These two are neccesities.

Might also be worth having a word with Trading Standards (just to touch base re any pricing / weights & measures stuff) and any Business Gateway section (re start-up advice)

Best of luck.

If I said "how about next Tuesday", would you presume I mean this Tuesday coming or the one afterwards over a week away?

This Tuesday coming, as it will be the next Tuesday to appear.

If you meant the one afterwards I'd expect you to say "next again Tuesday" or something like that.
