The Falkirk FC Thread

It is very possible that Rogers would at least be given a chance between the sticks if he's recalled. Brown isn't up to much and Rogers has impressed at a decent level so deserves a chance to show he's worth a new contract. Would be absolutely foolish for us not to include a recall clause in his contract, particularly since our number one had one in his deal from Liverpool. Would not be at all surprised if there wasn't one though.

Didnt Brown have a shut out record last season ?

Its amazing that a player can have a decent game v Rangers and now is highly regarded, Rogers is decent and still learning and in my opinion not ready to be a no1 at Aberdeen

Id be surprised if there was a release clause for especially a goalkeeper, outfield players can be replaced fairly easier albeit not in same level but a goalkeeper is a big structural area of a team, which is why Aberdeen will have a song and dance about Ward being recalled.

If there's any position that would have a recall clause, it's a goalkeeper for the exact reasons you mention.

If Ward had been able to stay at Aberdeen then got injured outside the window, they'd struggle to get permission to replace him with an emergency loan because "Scott Brown is shite" isn't a valid reason.

It's the risks of the loan system.

Timing couldnt be worse if true. Two huge games this week so the last thing we need is a new keeper between the sticks. Not great planning and a lesson for any future deals.

If Rogers returns to Aberdeen before tomorrow, you'll have to play your existing backup keeper.

Rodgers to return to Dons with Falkirk signing new keeper in next 24/48 hours

Ok....Does that leave us with Danny Rogers then ?

4th choice goalie when loan agreed in summer, 3rd choice goalie in January when next agreement.

He may have stepped up to 2nd if he can return now but we dont know Aberdeens plans, they have lost a No1, they may want to replace with a No1.

No one knows also re clauses in place of the deal if any

Tyrone Smith@TyroneSTV 30m

Peter Houston says it would need the agreement of Falkirk, Aberdeen & Danny Rogers in order for the player to have his loan spell cut short

Tyrone Smith@TyroneSTV 28m

But if Aberdeen said they really needed Rogers back, Houston says he doesn't want to fall out with anyone adding that AFC were good enough

Tyrone Smith@TyroneSTV 27m

.... to let him go there in the 1st place

Houston should tell them to feck off. At the end of the day theyve screwed up big time by allowing us to sign up rogers before tying up ward. Houston should only be concerned about the situation at falkirk and not about pissing a few folk off in aberdeen.

Depends if 1 of the irons in the fire he has is an Aberdeen player on loan.
