The Falkirk FC Thread

As @Shodwall catstates the deeper you dive the more you realise this just hasn’t been thought through at all.

Imagine you win in the playoffs (Raith last week but in 2 years time) you then have 10 weeks in the off season to budget for a new grass pitch, contact and hire the Astro pitch company to rip it up (a process which isn’t quick btw), interview new ground staff for the grass pitch, lay the grass pitch, let it bed in, budget and source a brand new training facility, all whilst it’s basically your only holiday time as a board of a provincial football club.

It’s absolutely bonkers and definitely won’t be the last we hear of it. Completely calamitous governance.

im saying people who dont want to debate but just fling insults are like Fascist in the 30's (who also didnt want to debate) or could be Trump supporters i suppose

They cant win a debate so just abuse.

Jumping from talking about plastic football pitches to the holocaust is a completely normal thing to do right enough

show me the evidence of that?  only way that would be possible is that the Grass parks were terrible.

So now you've costed in the consultants reviewing the standard of training pitches ... Which I assume you think the 12 are paying for too. Wouldn't want any sporting advantage of one being better than another.

Well we moved to little kerse to train we then moved back because the manager said the players preferred training at the stadium it's not really hard to work out you know but you seem to be arguing when you now feck all about it. Our pitch is superb and fantastic for football.  You surely noticed that the  night we  completely humped you in the cup last season.

You don't have 10 weeks: there are 6 between POs ending and LC starting.

In practice Championship clubs will have to move to grass, find/build new training centres, and hire new locations for community/youth/etc.

if thats the case it must be on the website somewhere or online ? no ?  or have you just made it up ? :)

It's on this thread as it was discussed on here at the time. Have a look back if you can be arsed but I certainly am not making it up FFS. Come on your going on about freedom of speech then when someone replies your calling them a liar.

Hadn’t thought of the LC, I guess at worst those games could be played elsewhere. Utterly farcical though.

We trained at LK because our plastic pitch was nearing the end of its life and players didn’t want to train on it. If we want to find a compromise we have to admit that earlier replacement of plastic pitches in the top flight is probably fair enough. Our one for the last 2/3 seasons was not good.

We were back within a few weeks because the players preferred it at the stadium so it can't have been that bad.

We can only hope that some league invites the arse cheeks to join, and you won’t see them for shite.

The rules on plastic will disappear as quick as our sales of invincible limited tops went.

Maybe just maybe the distribution of wealth, would be portioned fairly and the leagues opened up, so that facing 4 league games and the same team often in a cup would be a thing of the past. We can dream can’t we………

Genuinely feel gutted about this decision and makes me completely apathetic to Scottish Football. You think people have moved on and learned from mistakes and then you see people like Div come on and talk about votes with conditions about money that don't exist. In fact the vote that Div has suggested didn't happen at all since there has been absolutely no consideration to financial support embedded in the vote. So for all the "yes but we want to support the finances" talk it's all just nonsense. The utter idiocy of not understanding how scottish football works is criminal for those who have a right to that vote. If you want better standards in the league you need to distribute money better not create situations that do the opposite and serve the few and that will never happen as has been proven time and again. Unsure why I had hope but here we are. A sad day.

Despite what you think, the most important people in football are the players. ask them what they would prefer. Its their bodies and they have to live with the pain when they retire.

Interesting views on the Grass v Artificial debate from this Dundee Utd supporter. As he uses it in his Username, I trust he is aware of the origins of his team’s nickname……

The nickname of Dundee United’s supporters is ‘The Arabs’. It is believed to have been coined during the 1962-63 season when several inches of snow had made Tannadice Park unplayable. An industrial tar burner was called in to help melt the snow. However, the machine succeeded in destroying most of the grass on the pitch as well.

Undaunted, the directors ordered several lorry-loads of sand, spread it around, painted some lines on it and, astonishingly, the referee pronounced the pitch playable! United won the tie handsomely, prompting some observers to comment that they had taken to the new surface "like Arabs."

Yes we have a league setup where 25 percent of the total  prize money for 42 teams goes to two of them every season and yet instead of doing something about they'd rather put extra financial restrictions in place for teams that won't improve Scottish football one single bit.

Would there not be scope for the other 3 divisions to breakaway from the Premiershipship ?

Its surely worth looking into.

And invite the other prem teams leaving the two arse cheeks high and dry! If only we had the collective balls to shaft them like they do to the rest of us!

As this has clearly shown the likes of st mirren and teams of a similar size in the top flight are far too far up the arse of the bigot bros to even contemplate doing anything that might not go down well with them.
