Will "emptying the wage thieves" be possible?

What sort of contracts have all these imposters got?

We'll need to pay them off. Fortunately, we are world class at this process and have it down to a fine art.

Some of our fans still think ripping up a contract of employment involves nothing more than handing the player a P45 and a reference before wishing him good luck and booting him out the door. Hence the "plenty of room on the wage-bill for new signings" nonsense being spewed about after we emptied Froxylias, Turner, Mackin and Greenwood a couple of months ago.

The financial waste at the club is utterly, utterly frightening.

but our best  recruitment strategy might be looking in the lower leagues for guys who woulf still see signing for Falkirk as a step-up, with half an eye on where we might be playing next season.

Agreed with you up until this. We've had a disastrous start to the season but we're remarkably only 3 points from 8th, as this league is so bad. We absolutely have a chance of avoiding relegation if we can add the right quality in January. Any sign of throwing in the towel or preparing for a league 1 title challenge next season would rightly see the fans turn on the club.

Interesting from a 1-game perspective to see some of the names getting slated by the Falkirk lot on here. For example Robson spent the entire game hiding on the touchline and was an absolute imposter today, but seems to be getting little criticism compared to some of the boys that at least tried to get on the ball...suppose its not good to judge over 90 mins but he really stood out as an absolute shyster to me today.

Don’t know what went on in the Falkirk changing room at HT but to notch an equaliser two minutes before the break and then not even bother showing up for the second half was bizarre and utterly disgraceful from a Navy blue POV....strange.

Agreed. Some seemed to think paying off Hartley and the PE teacher wasn't taking a decent chunk out of our funds either. Bonkers stuff.

We must conservatively have spent £150k in the last couple of seasons paying off contracts..

Well be fine.

Partick will stick with Caldwell, Dunfermline will stick with AJ and Morton will continue sliding down. There's also Alloa as well.

Fingers crossed.

We're currently on 20 points. You lot are still in single digits. Looking forward to you getting to 20 points round about April... if at all

Expensive business running a football club badly.
Turning this round in January will certainly cost the club a fair amount but being relegated would be calamitous.

Wow, you could have an Academy for that. Gross negligence.

A competent goalkeeper should be high on the list of priorities. It's a must. The midfield is a massive issue and needs completely gutted. Irving has some talent but appears incapable of imposing himself on a game, beyond the odd flash. here and there. Hopefully absolutely no consideration will be given to extending his loan deal. Sammut is a little boy lost and needs despatched back to where he came from if the contract allows. Bauben could be a quality player, but there's a reason why he was still unattached in October. He'd need to play 3 or 4 consecutive games in December to have any chance of being kept on, a pity, but he's just not reliable. McKee has scored a couple of goals but his performances have been largely anonymous. Frighteningly, Paton is now emerging as pretty much the first pick in that area of the park. Up front, goodbye to Haber if contract allows, Lewis should be advised to start considering alternative careers, retain Rudden if possible, Petravicius could be a decent option off the bench but would not like to see him starting every week . At least one decent forward needs to be recruited, and McKinnon has also spoken of the dearth of wide options, I'd like to see a couple of proper wingers coming in, not had one for years. So really, in an ideal world you're looking at about 6 recruits without even considering the defence.
But, as others have stated, the idea that, come 1st January, we're going to have five or six players ready to go is fantasy stuff. We are a deeply unattractive proposition at the moment. The likes of Dundee, St Mirren and Partick are in the same boat - terrible summer recruitment=rancid season=change of manager=desire to bring in own players, they'll all be rummaging about in a similar market to us. It won't be popular, but our best  recruitment strategy might be looking in the lower leagues for guys who woulf still see signing for Falkirk as a step-up, with half an eye on where we might be playing next season.

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks this might be out of reach. Hartley has done a fantastic job of putting the final nail in our squads coffin. There is honestly no use expecting talent to emerge from this bunch however that today was unacceptable. All we can hope for is a couple of signings that somehow kick lumps out of folk and a goal scorer. Without it we’re gone. Grim times

I just don't get this obsession with slating Muirhead at any opportunity. The man's not the most skilful but he's played nearly 200 games at this level under 4 different managers for a reason(including 2 seasons where we finished 2nd). Let's not forget he was in the team when we stopped the rot against County.

He certainly wasn't great today but neither was anyone on the pitch(including Tommy Robson, who seems to be beyond criticism). We have at least 7 or 8 players needing replaced before Aaron Muirhead for me. Luckily we have a manager in charge who knows this.

No obsession. As I said, as a player he is much of a muchness. The big thing is, he has no positional discipline, starts ordering players about, And suddenly a defence that was plodding and reliable without him is an absolute shambles as soon as he returns. Don’t look at what he does as an individual. Look at the uncertainty he injects into the rest of the defence. At least they all knew where Harrison would be. Aero just wanders here and there all over the defence. His positional discipline is frighteningly bad.

Muirhead is a fucking mess. He made the defence which was stable worse. The goalkeeper is an absolute fucking joke. I have seen Dracula attack more crosses. We are going into league one. We need to accept it stenny are a shit team I that league and they wrecked us at set pieces. See you on the other side of we make it. It is far worse than people fear
