The Falkirk FC Thread

I've got a memory of him basically cracking up around Christmas time, I think after a cup away game at Pittodrie. The media pressure and fan criticism all got a bit much I think, preferred a back room and coaching role. Got loads of praise as the youth coach before the unexpected step up.

Away game at Perth. Talked out of resigning and limped on for a few more games.

I remember that match , he just sat in the dugout with his arms folded staring into space. He seemed to have no idea how to inspire the players or change anything.

George Craig talked him out of resigning.

Carried on until the Killie home defeat in February when he resigned again , George Craig again trying to dissuade him.

I always rack my brains to think of anything George Craig handled well whilst running Falkirk.

He got offered the job and you have to put yourself in his position. If he had said No it would have haunted him for the rest of his days 'What if' He went for it and it turned sour. Talented youth coach that produced the end product. Great player for the club and it was so sad it did not work out for him. The criticism from the fans must have hurt deeply.

Been busy, yes I genuinely have been, so let's crack on.

73-72 136 Appearances

Andy Seaton - 1995 -2001 left back. Great young prospect, but put on the beef and disappeared to Alloa and obscurity. 1 goal. Appeared in the 97 run with honour.

Bob Henderson - towering centre half, 1945-1951. No goals.

71-70 137 Appearances

Ralph McKenzie - RB/CH 1950-1956 No goals.

Tom Taiwo - central/right midfielder. 2014 to 2018. Much beloved Tommy Tackle. Sadly all too breakable in the aforementioned tackle. 5 goals.

Talks on no more football for the diddy leagues until January.

That's not good, and what happens if we get the go ahead in January and there's not enough teams around to start the league with the top 2 leagues already halfway completed.

I wonder if the team will ever get to wear that ugly new strip.

He got forced into it by the clueless craig and it cost us a guy who was top of his class at running youth academies.  One of the worst ever decisions in the history of the club.  Clubs settled in the top flight, great facilities, european football, most attractive to a prospective manager it will ever be so let's give it to the boy with zero experience who runs the kids teams. You couldnt make it up really.

Imagine how Partick will feel of that is true, bumped out the league unfairly then told you can't play again until January!

The article is probably a load of rubbish anyway!

I'd have thought testing would be covered by the NHS and free prescriptions in Scotland. They're talking about £4500 a week.

Could be rubbish or it could be possible.

As we all know closed doors doesn't work for lower leagues and we all know the SPFL could not give a toss about us. Add to that no vaccine til next year and that the  Scottish Gov look to be ultra cautious when it comes to any sort of gatherings......it's plausible.

At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious I reckon the NHS will pay for your one test, not 2 or 3 a week per player. I can just imagine all these footballers queuing up at testing stations.

Beginning to see where you get your wise thoughts from.

It's actually getting to the stage where reconstruction would help fix quite a lot of issues. If they were to axe the bottom 2 league's until January, reconstruction would put us and Thistle in the 2nd tier, the problem wouldn't be so much us but I can't see them being to keen to shit on Thistle again after the way they relegated them.

The question is do we want to be in the 2nd tier and play football? The way it stands the now we could have just a handful of players on our books so we could ride this out easier than most.
