Callum Paterson has definitely had a better career than Gayle so far.

Dwight Gayle has over 100 English top flight appearances so that's a pretty bold claim.

Good old auto correct with it's anti Scottish discrimination.

Has he ?

To be cruel it has been established he is not that good in one of " his " positions ie right full back

What else does he play ?

Forward ?

Better career in Scotland

Played in The Barclays

Made more money

More caps

Harry Souttar was a teenager when he left Scotland you fuckin idiot.  Played about four games for a team being relegated.  Souttar was have a career at a higher level, as he's simply a better player.  At his age Paterson was still at Hearts.

Talk about damming with feint praise emoji28.png. There’s one to tell the grandchildren about.

Amazed at this thread still being up the top of the tartan army board. Ryan Gauld will be 25 in a couple of months and he’s nowhere near the Scotland squad, never mind the Scotland team. Their is younger players than him who are well ahead of him in the pecking order.

Maybe time to... let this thread drift into obscurity. Like he did.

If you want the thread to drift into obscurity, maybe you could stop posting in it every few months to tell us how shite Gauld is?

Because Gauld is a skilful player , something Scotland does not have an over abundance of these days

Hopefully he will flourish in Portugal s top league this season and earn a squad call up. If so it would bring another dimension to the team

Going back to Craig Brown's days Craig Brewster was doing well in the Greek top division but never got called up to a squad which was shameful

Ryan Christie can play no 10, anyway John McGinn is currently nearest to that role and will not be moved

Gauld would have to move mountains to shift him from the starting 11

Dwight Gayle has a kid with a bird from Forfar or Arbroath I believe. I think Ryan Gauld is from that neck of the woods. So you can see where the confusion arose really.

I think Ryan would be deeply offended by saying he came from Farfar or Arbroath

I don't know how many times you would need it explained to you or to see it in front of your own eyes, but you need more than 11 players for intl football. We have used about 35 for these 3 games, with about ten missing.  Therefore whether Gauld could displace McGinn or not is of no relevance whatsoever in ascertaining Gauld's likelihood of Scotland caps.  Which he definitely will get btw.
