The Official Former President Trump thread

It's going to be so class when the RNC goes ahead and all those freaks spend a week coughing in each other's mouths.

ETA: the only letdown is Biden's welcoming all the Never Trump ghouls firmly into his circle so they'll escape unscathed.

It’s strange, but when he first won, I did quite like him and I honestly thought that he would bring about a genuine change.
It now actually scares me just how much I hate him. He really is the morons moron. I really do look forward to the day that they throw his key away.

I'm struggling to see what there was to like in the first place, to be honest!

Fair play though for being willing to change your mind. Many who liked him have just blinded themselves to his numerous faults and doubled down on their support for him.

If this is truly the case then it's not Trump who's the moron's moron.

Although, as BWV says above, fair play for changing and having an open mind!

Going after Dr Faucci to make him the patsy in the covid 19 pandemic

Heard that on the Today show, he's onto a loser right away as trust in each of their handling of the pandemic has the public supporting Fauci at 67% and Trump at 26%

If only he'd given some indication in his previous 70+ years on earth that he was a raging imbecile.

I’m beginning to think he’s deliberately sabotaging his own campaign, so he can have some kind of justification for his inevitable defeat in November.

No, he’s just utterly incapable of not being a massive thundercunt. Everything he’s done throughout his life should have made him unelectable in the first place.

Still find it stunning that The World's Greatest Democracy™ allows its head of state to hand out Get Out Of Jail Free cards.

What an utterly bizarre concept.

Its normal around the world. Jimmy Carter used it to offer amnesty to anyone who had avoided the draft. Obama used the powers to commute the sentence of Chelsea Manning. The Labour Party pardoned hundreds who had been shot for cowardice in WW1. There are many other cases round the world of sentences being commuted, pardoned or amnesty offered. Its obviously open to abuse but the powers exist for a reason. Judges can only interpret law, laws can be seen to be unjust, circumstances change or there may be a need for symbol acts. Its obviously open to abuse but in America there is one final check and balance in the system. The people get to chose if the occupant of the post of President has discharged his duties in a manner they are happy with.

It's a bit unusual for a Western leader to overturn the judiciary and release someone after they've massively flagged that they have dirt on the leader and are under pressure to release it if they're not pardoned. I realise that in this case that Roger Stone is a bit of a blagger and fantasist but he did have a long term relationship with the Donald and was employed on the early stages of the Trump campaign.

The statement was that the general case that heads of state had powers to commute sentences, give amnesty or whatever was "stunning".

I disputed this.

If the specific case is seen as being especially self serving, that is another matter. However

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pardon_of_Richard_Nixon

Its not unprecedented. The final check and balance is set to weigh the current President in the balancing scale.

I am going for 'Mene mene tekel upharsin'.

Dr. John Gartner: "Donald Trump is the most successful bio-terrorist in human history"

https://www.salon.com/2020/07/13/dr-john-gartner-donald-trump-is-the-most-successful-bio-terrorist-in-human-history/

Gartner warns that Donald Trump is actively using the coronavirus pandemic as a type of biological weapon against the American people. Gartner also explains how Donald Trump, like other malignant narcissists who attain great power, is willing to hurt and even kill his own followers as a way of satisfying his personal sadism and need for narcissistic energy.

Seems fair.
