If the FA want to buy their own supplies for players they’re more than welcome to do so. But they should not be allowed access to the current supplies unless they meet the criteria.

He's well off the mark here. Professional athletes, overall, are about as low risk a group as you'll find.

If they are that bothered they can pay the £35k or whatever it is Dubai charges the queue jumpers.

f**k off Southgate, just because someone nicked the sleeves from your suit for easy Jag access.

Footballers and the Police Federation trying to outdo each other for getting punted to the back of the queue.

Dunno if it's the same everywhere else but about 20% of appointments at the mass vaccination in Dundee aren't turning up for whatever reason. That bad that they're having to phone and beg people to come in at the end of the night as they don't want to chuck prepared vaccines out.

Should have implemented a system where everybody is enrolled and assumed to want it, if you do you have to back out. Anybody who doesn't and doesn't show is then fined. That would cut the no show numbers straight away.

Fined - throw the c*nts in prison.  In fact, hanging is too good for them.

Remember last year when Red Bull F1 wanted to take their drivers and key staff to a "Corona Camp" where they could be deliberately infected?

There was an argument from a manager a couple of months ago that they could vaccinate the players and the clubs could donate all the money they would have otherwise used for testing to fund the NHS vaccination programme. That was probably not logistically possible, but at least made more sense than this tone deaf nonsense.

There are so many employers who think that their staff should be vaccinated as a priority, whether that's police, teachers, shop staff etc.  At least there are credible arguments for those kind of jobs, but suggesting footballers (or any athletes) who, statistically, are highly unlikely to get seriously ill is quite pathetic really.  That, and the fact there was a study (someone posted it on here a while back) that showed transmission amongst those playing outdoor contact sports was minimal.

Even within some of the key worker jobs it's nearly impossible to decide who should be done first without alienating or pissing off other professions. Only fair way to do it is to just work through the priority list, there's no point in largely healthy people being given it by virtue of their occupation when you have someone who would be at risk of being hospitalised/dying doesn't get it because of their employment status.

I think it's illegal to get a vaccine from anyone apart from the NHS? And I am sure the NHS won't take payments from the fucking Football Association so that Joe Gomez can shag whoever he wants in Macedonia.

One of the most important  reasons given  was that it  would have slowed things down a lot trying to work out who works where and for who, it was always an idea promoted by idiots.

The false positive rates of the lateral flow tests and the frequency with which school staff and students are taking them means that there probably are a lot of extra follow-up PCR tests being done.

Not really. In England they've just released the latest figures for their lateral flow tests.

There were 2,588 positive results from 4.6 million lateral flow tests in schools last week. Positivity rate was 0.06%.

Yes wherever that bollox about up to 30% false positive tests come from. Maybe if you shove the test up your arse instead of your nose. The false positive was never expected to be over 0.1% by most approved kits.

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-analysis-of-lateral-flow-tests-shows-specificity-of-at-least-999#:~:text=New analysis reinforces that lateral, extremely low false positive rates.&text=New analysis published today shows,be as high as 99.97%.
