Each to their own.  For me a big plus for P&B instead of purely club boards is that it's a forum where you can get opinions and inputs from fans of other clubs as well as your own - it's good to get a view from a different perspective now and again, and that's what @StuartA was doing, so fine with me.

Also nothing wrong with a wee wind up and banter now and again! 😎

Imagine trying to make a government initiative that puts football clubs back into the hands of the fans sound like a negative. Weirdo behaviour.

I wonder if consideration should be given to selling the naming rights to Palmerston?  It may not be a popular course of action, and we could risk ending up with something as tacky as the Cheaper Direct Insurance Stadium, but at least it would help in dragging us out of a financial hole.

This suggestion was made to Dan 12 months or so ago, there was a bit of interest from a UK manufacturer - He never returned the call. 😟

Good on you Dan.     Our ground's already got a name.

It's bad enough enough that our stands and terracing bear the burden of daft titles.

Bottom line here we need money if any firm wants to pay to change the name of Palmerston then take it who cares .

We are not in a position to turn down anything .

Agree with that. The ground will always be Palmerston Park to the fans. We need to get back to running the club at break even.

Call the stadium anything they want (within reason) if it brings in some much needed scoobies ... well, OK maybe "The Viagra, On The Rise Again Stadium" might be a step too far tbf ... 😐

In that case it should be 50/50 with East Stirlingshire ?

Could've bought Annan town centre for that.  Maybe next year.

If they’re working in Carlisle and living in Scotland for tax purposes then they must really enjoy paying more tax.

Why would they live in Scotland but work in Carlisle for tax purposes?  I would have thought it'd be the other way round (edited to add: unless they earn well under £30k, but then travel would eat up the difference).

On he other point re: the Shire, the money benefited the Shire as a tenant of FFC at the stadium given that it allowed FFC to undertake much needed upgrades on the pitch and floodlights, so that's good.  It also benefited the Community Foundation for the same reason.  So a win-win really.  Any club's fans can organise themselves and bid for the Fans' Bank funding - you should look into it.

It's a disgrace, isn't it? Send the foreign muck back where they belong, I say.
