The Queen of the South thread

Where do Queens fans genuinely think they'd be under Johnston right now? McIntyre doesn't seem to be the most tactically clued up manager in the league but he always seems to try and make games entertaining with an attacking style of football.

That's the million dollar question that we've been roundly criticised for daring to ask.

The answer is probably, "a bit better than where we are just now".

These are still very early days yet. I will be interested to see if some teams play the same way home and away. I agree that McIntyre does at least try to play the game the 'right' way . In my opinion, JM would defo prefer to play teams like Dundee who are going to come at you straight away. ie he would just like a tear up every week.

Johnston would have a least tried last seasons players and system to see if it would cope with championship level. McIntrye has decided last seasons players and system are not good enough without trying it

It really pissed me off when Johnston went as he re signed most of the squad and I wanted to see how he would fare.

JM comes in and only had to replace the keeper and he signs one of the worst keepers I've seen and then plays 4-4-3/4-5-1 when 4-4-2 suited us better.

Twice he has played the same team after tough midweek cup games against p/t teams at home and gets 1 point.

And he changed the back 4 to accommodate his pal.

Johnston's departure is starting to leave a bitter taste on reflection, just for the way he quit on the players on the eve of preseason at the first attempt The players committed themselves to play for him but he wasn't committed to them.

Last season we got 37% more points than Alloa. We currently have 38 % less than them.

We should have 18 points based on the difference between the teams last season. We've got 8 points.

Even if you don't accept we should have the same percentage more than them, we should still have more. If Alloa can get 13 points from 8 games, how come we can only get 8?

And, by the way, we had 8 points from 8 games under Gus.

Well done McIntyre. Keep up the good work.

16:50 - Not quite sure how Queens lost that. In the second half they were by far the better side but come away with no points.

From OS, ring any bells, alarm ones maybe.

Looking like 8/9th place is our target next week against Cowdenbeath is a massive game so early in the season.

Becoming a bit of a concern, Is McIntyre frightened of subbing Lyle!

Russell was by far best player on the park and taken off!

Same old missed chances when on top and the goalie posted missing for the winner.

We are now entering a relegation battle already instead of a looking for a top 4 spot.

Johnston walk from Rugby park all the way back to Palmerston please before it's to late.

Wonder if it will be the same team again, why change a losing one?

 Jeez If you didn't laugh you'd cry. Must win next week otherwise this season looks like becoming a self fulfilling prophecy, just like the Gus one.

Each defeat and moral and expectations sink that wee bit lower.

Not quite sure about the better side haha. Falkirk had more chances and on another day could of pumped us.

A draw would have been a fair result, the chances were pretty even. In the first where were abject, they didn't really look like scoring until the penalty.

The BBC website is in fact saying we had more possession and more shots on target (Not sure how accurate that is though), McGovern made a couple of great saves that kept us from taking the lead
