Who is more likely to be carrying a blade? Having lived in North America I came to the conclusion that the Police being armed routinely is actually usually a good thing because would be neds realise that acting up can result in getting shot restoring peace to the streets. This works as long as you don't do what the Americans did and allow private citizens to be armed as well. The Canadians found the right balance on that.

Armed police around the world have a famously good record of only ever harming those who are "acting up" too.

There isn't a sum of money you could ever give me which would persuade me to become a school teacher for this reason.

Fair play to anyone who can do this job as a genuine vocation and care about their students.

I'd genuinely love to work with kids*. If you keep them interested (which is a challenge) the reward in seeing them mature and learn must be invaluable.

Working with adults is soul destroying where some think they're more important than others, some have just lost the will to live and others are just awkward.

*no pedo.

That'll more than likely be the boy who put a brick through the police windscreen as it was driving towards him. He'll hopefully be in the hospital next to the copper he put there.

A local businesswoman said that this is all about the cost-of-living crisis and that this is what happens when people are bored and hungry.

Yeah, whenever I get hungry, I often head straight to Asda to buy a ton of fireworks instead of food with my last few pennies to throw at the police.

What a load of bollocks. 😂

How do you know they didn't steal the fireworks?

Look at mentoring.  It can be really rewarding.  https://mcrpathways.org/
