Young lad won a framed signed shirt for £67 starting bid was £50 no reserve or anything. Arsehole then says to him I'm not selling it for £67 it cost me £300, he's an older gentleman. Ebay involved now, he's knows he's not going to get the shirt, but what happens to the seller clown? ebay just shut down his account and that would be it? Thanks in advance.

The Dental Hospital should be able to sort you out. I've had a couple of check ups, two fillings and a tooth extracted there, the latter done last year when there were still loads of restrictions.

Always nice to be mentioned in a thread for something other than sexual deviance He'll get a strike against him and, if he hasn't done it before, he'll be allowed to continue on as normal. He'd have to make it a very regular thing for them to shut his account. As a seller, I mainly get to see eBay's uselessness with regard to arsehole buyers, but there's obviously plenty of dickhead sellers too. I presume the young one hasn't actually parted with any money? Think I actually preferred eBay when it was the Wild West. They decided to pretend they're like Amazon to encourage unsuspecting buyers, but when something goes wrong it's never their problem - contact the seller and sort it out with them

They can do a check up and advise if anything needs done and possibly even do any follow up stuff. It's done by final year students and checked off by the supervisors, who are qualified dentists. Every step is checked over by the supervisor. Sometimes work is done by the dentists too. Fill out the form in the link below (a dowloadable PDF near the bottom) if you fancy it. It's all free as well. https://www.dundee.ac.uk/guides/get-treatment-dundee-dental-hospital Edited June 13, 2022 by DA Baracus

No. As soon as a dispute is raised the money will be taken back out of the sellers account (or leave him overdrawn to PayPal).

Thanks for the info. No, he'll get the money back, although I'm not sure on the procedure since eBay started handling the payments themselves. It was pretty easy through PayPal, and (annoyingly, if you were a seller) there was virtually nothing you could do to stop buyers from demanding a refund and getting it. In theory, it should be even easier now, as eBay holds the payment for a few days, so it should be pretty straightforward to get the money back before they get to touch it. You can report them here, although I'm guessing eBay won't do much other than issue a refund. What's the guy's feedback like, out of curiosity? I got negative feedback recently from some c**t who literally tried to blackmail me into getting an item for free, and all I got was a digital shrug from eBay about it. Didn't give a shit about my complaint, and wouldn't remove the feedback. I noticed I wasn't the only seller who'd left a warning about them in the replies either, but they're still a member in good standing as far as eBay's concerned.

Aye, I sometimes think that people are way too laid back about trying to rip people off on eBay, considering that you've got their name, address, and phone number. Wouldn't surprise me if there's some kind of 'eBay revenge' Facebook group or something. Worst I've ever had was some fruitcake in Vietnam who barraged me with trojans and late-night phone calls for a few weeks because, six months after buying, I didn't keep a game he won the auction on and that he never paid for. I assume that's the reason they hide your email address these days.
