Knows exactly what goes on with the drunken, nicotine-addicted kitchen staff, yet continues to order food from them. Seems legit.

Hopefully they get their (IRL, not internets) lawyer to fire off a letter for maximum lulz.

I would hate to have a business. This seems to be a regular occurrence: something happens and folk take to social media to slate the company straight away. If that was me I'd take it back and tell them (and probably ask for a replacement [emoji38]), not bitch and moan online. Stupid cow still eats it all.

I've had to explain to my bosses a couple of times that staying off social media is a smart move. For some reason a lot of older folk get the idea that it's all sharing pictures of events and heartwarming stories about employees raising funds for kittens, and they get a real fright when you show them some of the witch hunts that go on.

Far too many people believe the purpose of social media is to trash local businesses they believe have wronged them.

We had a situation here not so long ago after a restaurant changed hands. The original owners had made an annual donation to the local kids baseball league. The mother in charge of these things  showed up with her hand out, taking it for granted the new owners would continue the tradition. But they explained they would not. According to witnesses, she got abusive, and was escorted off the premises.

Did she apologise? Did she go back the next day to see if she could undo the damage? Did she sigh with disappointment and begin the process of canvassing other local businesses? No, of course not. She went on the local Facebook page to deliver a ridiculous HeadsGone. Bad mouthing the owner, bad mouthing his staff, bad mouthing the food and demanding everyone boycott the restaurant. Over time, a number of people told her to grow up and eventually the thread was deleted. Even so, it was depressing how many people cheered her on.

It's the modern day equivalent of "Nice place you got here. Pity if something bad was to happen to it. How about you make a donation and we'll see that nothing does."

People who work in the hospitality industry seem to have lots of stories about customers who'll use their services, have no complaints, but say they aren't paying and will blitz the business on social media if they try to force the issue. Presumably it works for them enough to be worthwhile, like the folk at restaurants who bitch about trivial things until they get something for free.

I think if I had to deal with this shite, I'd end up in the jail for tracking them back to their home address and hacking them to pieces with an axe. Then giving them a bad review on Yelp.

I once had a Burger from Slouch in Glasgow and halfway through realised it was raw in the middle. Did I have a hissy fit I'd nearly been poisoned? No. Did I go home and rant on Facebook? No. What I did do was eat as much of the cooked bit of the burger and all the sides before pointing out the issue to the waitress and hinting that maybe knocking the drinks off the bill may alleviate the situation. A fair result for all.

It's naw just businesses that get that. I used to have a great laugh looking for bad reviews for the hospital I worked in to see if anyone mentioned the surly Scottish guy who was rude and dismissive. They did: but not as often as I would like.

Do you think your last paragraph no longer happens, also?

And that starts off as "Trick or treat".

I got the opposite once. Some Karen bitch spun a work of fiction on Facebook about my boss not dealing with her complaint and praised me for my help. Never been so mortified; it was like receiving a compliment from Hitler on how well I was keeping the ovens running.
