tamthebam
I believe an attempt was made to decimalise the calendar during the French Revolution but it wasn't terribly popular.

tongue_tied_danny
Squeezing lemon juice on to deep fried battered or breaded haddock is a fucking stupid thing to do.
The Other Foot
Ian Rankin is pish. Loved his books when I was a teen. Half a life later, I've just re-read Strip Jack. It's dreadful. Here's a snifter: "I think there's some Scotch broth left over from lunch" . His vowels turned broth into 'braw-wrath'. The braw wrath of the Scots, Rebus though to himself. Firstly, cringe. Secondly, who else would he think to if not to himself? Almost as pish as Irvine Welsh.
Funky Nosejob
I read the entire Rebus collection from Knots And Crosses through to Rather Be the Devil a few years back*. It became much more challenging towards the end as the plot lines became repetitive and more obvious. Tried the same challenge with the Bob Skinner series by Quintin Jardine and only lasted 5 books. * I’m aware that some new titles have been released since, but I’ve scunnered myself with Rebus.
Bert Raccoon
I do like the Rebus books but I much prefer Stuart MacBride's Logan McRae books
