What's really worrying for me is that Veldman was either 'happy' with the processes today and the personnel actioning it all, or more likely, looked behind him at his bench options and thought 'nah', (whatever that is in Dutch)

Yep his mate Marijn needs to take his share of the blame for the lack of squad depth. Scraping the barrel of the loan market is all we have left now but I don’t get the sense he is even interested in doing any more.

Louis was my man of the match today, and tbf I think he has played well all season.

He was a little wasteful at times but completely agree regarding his consistency.

Strange isn't it, he couldn't get anywhere near the team last year until OC started panicking near the end, but now seems a trusted regular.....has he improved or has the team gotten worse?

I can only remember Sharp having to make one save of any note throughout the game and that one looked a tad dramatic. We were missing Mehmet, Bene and Breen today but defence handled everything quite comfortably.

Thomas is wasted playing as a No 10. Needs to be out wide causing full backs problems, getting balls into the box.

Also were missing Tod, Todd, Allan and KRH. Anyone have any idea what the deal with Allan and Tod is? Hideous luck with injuries this season!

Yup, DT23 (although he wore 11 today) is a brilliant winger and needs to be played as someone who takes folk and puts balls in the box, like you say.

Hopefully on Steve Clarke's radar as a proven Hampden striker

Best free kick at Hampden since Leigh Griffiths.

That's a bit odd for a manager new to the country. Doesn't sound like there were too many contentious incidents that he could have been annoyed by, unless our bench have said something about the lack of red cards?

Aye odd, unless he was upset at our bench and staff claiming for a red for the elbow on McCann (which was a red for me).

Wasn't at the game unfortunately, great win.

Was it a 4-3-3? And any improvement from MOH?

MOH was decent. Looked quick and was willing to take players on. Still a bit rusty but between today and his performance at the league game at Tannadice I'm hopeful he can be a good player for us.

How did Jak perform ?

Good. There was a moment when he took a long ball down perfectly and played it wide then ran in to the box. Looks like he'll be a really good option for us. Can see him scoring a few.

Will need to see the highlights but my initial reaction was that QP should've had two red cards, the challenge from Fox in particular was horrendous. Leading with you're forearm to the back of the head is utter shitebag behaviour.

Though it was a red too, as did most Pars fans. The ref saw something since he gave a yellow, but unsure what he thought happened. Was disappointed in the linesman nearest the fans, as he appeared to have a good view, although I acknowledge we can't know what he actually saw.

I think for Beuker it’s a case of either underestimating the competition in our league or overestimating the initial impact the youth players could make. What’s the point in putting such a large quantity of these young guys on the bench, knowing they’re not going to make an impact in the immediate moment. That’s not the young guys faults, they’re quite clearly extremely talented players who I have no doubts will be great in the future for us but the bench should be supplemented with a share of 1st team ready players, not teenagers who aren’t even close to hitting 20 years old yet. I don’t think I’ve looked at our bench once this season and thought wow at least ‘X’, ‘Y’ and ‘Z’ are on the bench if things aren’t going to plan

But hey at least football journalists can rave about us on Twitter about having the youngest squad in the league though 😕

I thought both incidents should have seen red cards. Referee was incredibly poor though, not biased. For example, Edwards got booked, then committed another foul that’s usually a bookable offence a minute later. Also no idea how Otoo avoided a booking for a rash challenge on the far side, when the ball seemed to be going out for a throw-in anyway.

I’m genuinely not sure how the referee can have seen enough to give the free kicks for the 2 incidents though, but not give a red card for either. From where I was (and obviously with my Pars bias), looked like 2 obvious red cards. Second incident was right in front of us and I can’t see how it’s interpreted as anything other than violent conduct.

Would be interested to see just how young your squad is compared to ours...👀👀🤔

The average age of the players we've used this season is 21.9, by quite some distance the youngest in the league. Dunfermline are second though at 23.7; for context Arbroath are the oldest at 29.

Thought it was weird in both Queens Park post match interviews Thomas and their manager talk about how playing at Hampden gives the opposition a lift and they need to be also react.

Completely misses the point that Queens chose not to play next door and are presumably paying a decent amount of coin for playing at the national stadium.

Will Lewis McCann be on Northern Ireland’s radar? Shout out to the Rovers fan who said he’d massacre QP today.

Didn't take the forecasting skills of a Nostradamus, to be fair. I'm astounded to hear that Queen's Park kept up their high line today. Absolutely no surprise to see a lot of QP fans starting to question Veldman's credentials. After watching the footage from the game at Stark's Park, McPake must've been rubbing his eyes as the same thing unfolded. Totally negligent management.

QP fans quoting Einsteins definition of madness, whilst the QP management make some reference to Monkeys, type-writers and Shakespeare!

So we evidently have maybe 13 players who are likely starters.  We're a month and a bit into the season.  With so little option on the bench, it's a long way until January if we pick up any medium term injuries to key players.

Sheer hubris from both Veldman and Beuker to think that this squad, allied to their collective genius and the gimmick of refusing to bring in any players above an entirely arbitrary, self-imposed age limit, would be enough to compete in this division. Desperate to be proven wrong, but I was concerned when he was appointed, I've been concerned all summer with the transfer activity, and I'm certainly concerned that we've now lost three in a row.

Having Simon Murray for the first six months of the last campaign was the only reason we were able to challenge for the title, and we were pretty disastrous for the last couple of months, but I would argue that with the exception of the goalkeeper (and possibly right back), this is clearly a weaker team than the one we finished last season with. Which makes the lack of signings pretty criminal.

I don't think the team is worse but it is now very inexperienced.

Louis is a seasoned campaigner and I think that shows in his play.  Not quite sure why he was out of favour with Coyle but we did have strong wingers and I guess he hadn't thought of trying him at right back, where with hindsight, he could have done a decent job with both Oakley and Davidson being so inconsistent.
