Side note. No 'Rockin' All Over the World' at full time. I'm no Quo fan, but that song will always give me a feeling of happiness having heard the opening so often after important wins. Freed From Desire seemed popular so I suspect it'll remain.

I was thinking the same. Might just need to download it and fire it on when I get back to the car after the match from now on..

I stuck on my Live at the NEC LP seconds after the final whistle in the 5-1 game v the Pars and I'm sure folk in West Wemyss would have heard it.

On the highlights.

First off, Raith TV and all the folks involved do an unreal job - so grateful and appreciative of all the work!

On the comms/no comms - I can see it both ways. My preference is no comms (for the crowd noise).

One wee thing I would really enjoy seeing is a little more of the celebrations after a win. There was a couple of really good minutes at FT (couple of songs, freed from desire and then the players and Murray connecting) - a wee 30 seconds of the high points from celebrations after a win would be great viewing (and is good PR!). If the folks at Raith TV think it a good idea and its easily done, it would be great to see!

There are some challenges with stuff after the match. We have to get ready for post match interviews fairly quickly after the match and, with limited equipment, RTV basically have to pack up rapid and fire over to the interview area so can’t film for much longer after the final whistle. Not to mention the music playing at the end of the games can mean there are copyright claims on videos on YT if they are heard for too long.

When we have extra volunteer support and equipment, we’ve done celebration stuff in the past (see the end of the Motherwell highlights last year). Definitely something RTV will capture if we can though. You might also see some celebration stuff on social media outside of the highlights if captured elsewhere.

Ultimately, more content = more time to produce. Think RTV have been pretty good at getting highlights out at the earliest possible time the vast majority of weeks. We know there are a lot of people who like to see them then. It won’t be the case every single week because sometimes people have things on, but RTV will try to keep up the percentages fans have been used to again this season. RTV will put a post up on its social channels when highlights will be up later than usual.

Making the deadline involves working until late on a Saturday every single week, so there needs to be a bit of balance between making something good that is also manageable within the times volunteers can commit to.

Generally, the highlights won’t have comms and there will be a video on social media put up with the goals with comms on the RTV channels later when it is applicable. There are no plans for RTV to change this. If you hear the comms on the highlights in the near future, there is some sort of technical reason for it (for example we’ve been given footage with other comms on it or the sound on the video has an issue). If there is a decision to put comms on them permanently (to make them more accessible, for example) we will outright say.

Excellent outreach by RaithTV personnel to explain the vast dance involved in getting these “simple” highlights up for us to see so quickly. I just hope no RaithTV volunteer ever thinks we don’t deeply appreciate all their time and work, because we most certainly do!

End of an era. 😢😢

Having had time to think about it, changing the ‘after a win’ music is probably the right move now. Rockin’ All Over The World is nostalgic but the song is now more than 45 years old and very much of its time. Most folk under the age of 35 probably have no idea what the song even is. We are trying to attract younger fans and I suppose this is another step on that journey. Whilst Freed From Desire itself is now over 25 years old, it’s obviously had that recent football resurgence and is huge on Hampden nights, plus folk seemed to enjoy it at the whistle on Saturday. Happy for it to stay.

Change is fine, but it should be something without the tie-in elsewhere. For now Freed From Desire works, but surely there’s something else that would be ours rather than generic celebration music?

I’m sure the club are all ears.

It's building for the younger generation and it's a song most people can relate to - I think it's quite hard to get a distinct song because people will automatically be "why have we changed to this one?'.

What's been 'Rockin All Over the World' for folk my age, might be 'Freed from Desire' for someone down the line. Nobody is going to take away the memories of hearing the opening after a big win.

I'm happy if it gets more people involved. There's nothing to stop them playing it back to back too. If folk are celebrating a significant result, they're likely to hang about for a wee bit longer.

Will that come with an accompanying bugler? If so, pass.

Poor Bugler. Still mind that boy, the reaction he got from his fellow fans was 100% dependent on how we were doing on the pitch, playing well & winning, folk all happily joining in with him, he blasts one note when were losing & it was "AM GONNA RAM THAT BUGLE RIGHT UP YOUR ARSE!" 😔😄

Bring him back I say. 😀

Great to see the tickets selling so well but seems absolutely bizzare that half that stand will be empty and we are not getting the chance to sell as much of it as wee can.

Think Hibs will probably be hedging their bets on not needing to open the top tier. As it stands we're looking at about 1500 Rovers fans heading through which I'd guess is the good majority of the bottom tier.

…as BA points out, it’s far from old fuds like me the team are looking to “catch”, so anything I suggested might be as bad as Lawrence Welk “Linger Awhile”, eh?

Edited to add: “Beer Barrel Polka” might be a shout, though…

Stop you there, our friends along the A92 play The Bluebell Polka, so Polkas can GTF.

Thanks for the great reply mate 👏
