Talk that mcgurn left in a rage prior to full time. Laurie ellis joining him in leaving within 10 mins after full time whistle..

Rifts amongst the camp due to mcgurn not wanted by mckinnon from day one due to his own preferences and laurie signed as a player coach and are both a waste of a wage.

If this is the case, I hope that McKinnon can afford to pay off the contracts of both as I wouldn't want the club(who they are both contracted to ) to fork out because of this.

McKinnon is probably playing this smart and waiting for them to leave on their own accord so we don't have to pay them

This is not the way the Board works, Grant Murray was treated fairly, they will be remiss if they do not treat any 'dismissals' with an even hand.

To be honest, if Cuthbert is number 1, then why don't our "fans" actually try getting behind him and giving him some support and belief?? After all the manager has made his choice, just accept it and move on!!

I have already stated I have no problem with Cuthbert and if he's no1 then he has my full support. It's up to McGurn to bide his time.

If McGurn feels he isn't being given fair crack of the whip 'cos he's part time then that's different and I'd like a better explanation from the gaffer than "he doesn't train with the boys every day" as it's worked fine for 7 years up to now

It's a funny thing this McGurn business. I think my favour for him at the moment disturbingly is outweighing my favour of the team. I'd really prefer that we lose if he doesn't play, he has become Mr Raith Rovers, and now some stranger comes along with a shrunken head or is it an oversized jumper and I'm supposed to support him now? Nah, I think we rename Raith Rovers, David McGurn FC, drop out of the league and maybe we could just have a Q&A and tea and biscuits with David each weekend. ???

Mcgurn and Ellis have both been fantastic servants to the club and in line with our sporting integrity/doing the right thing attitude they should be looked after.

I did wonder if this would happen mckinnon has inherited them and quite often in football that never ends well.

That being said Mcgurn is the best keeper in the league so if it's over this "he's part time" pish Ray should stop being a fanny.

The McGurn situation is a tricky one. Easily one of the finest keepers in the league on his day but, looking at it from an incoming manager's point of view, is it really ideal having a player in a specialist position who doesn't train either full time or with the rest of the squad?

It's up to McGurn to prove he's worthy of the 'number one jersey', something I'm assuming he hasn't shown in either training (I'm assuming McKinnon will have seen him training?) or in his appearance in the friendly game.

I'm still a bit miffed we've went down the full time route again. We have always been better served with additional Part timers. Sorry but some full time players just aren't good enough. And I think we've signed them. Yet again we are struggling for goals. And like last season we're struggling with injuries.

A lot of Positive vibes going around, to a new era, With McKinnon, but this will back fire with dropping McGurn, I hope I'm wrong, but i don't think Cuthbert will play well under the pressure , from the fans. The 'Pressure', being 'there's a fully fit Club legend, who is the best, keeper in the, league out on loan pulling of top drawer saves for another team'

It will make fans go bananas

Hindsight is always 20/20 but McGurn proabably shouldn't have been given a new contract until the new manager had been appointed. That been said he has been left out of the team before and always managed to force his way back in. A couple of pish performances from Cuthbert (shoudn't take long based on last season) and he will be back in before the end of August.

Why would you leave in a rage nearly 2 hours after you were told you will not be playing ?

Have to admit it was a stotter of a way to get season ticket sales. Sack Murray and immediately offer McGurn a 2 year deal almost days later (basically what the fans wanted). Well played Eric and co. You'd think the interview may have touched on the fact we had 2 part time players on the books one of which was already signed up, then again maybe it did but the board agreed that part time players won't work because at the end the day they've now got our season ticket money. Hill leaving and McGurn not really getting game time kinda tells its own story. He'll not be our number 1 next season.

McGurn was sat in front of me at the game and seemed in fine fettle, certainly didn't appear to be raging, although he'd obviously be gutted, to say the least, that he wasn't in the squad. Fairly certain he stayed till the very end, too.

For some reason, a small collective of people appear intent on posting rumours. The same went for McKinnon wanting rid of Anderson during the close season.

If you're McKinnon and basing it on friendlies, McGurn was unfortunately poor in his one shot. McGurn has been dropped before and the reason he's still at the club is his professionalism in how he deals with it so I'd call bullshit on the talk of him storming out. He's our best goalie and if McKinnon is fair and puts him back in goal if there's a loss in form from Cuthbert then he'll keep his place.

Gained a bit of respect from Cuthbert who outright admitted last season was a disaster, he's not a self-righteous fool like Andy McNeil who claims to be oblivious as to why he's disliked at Starks, he knows he was poor so put in a lot of work over the summer. Hopefully he's a lot better this season. I'd certainly prefer McGurn, and if indeed he's not being played purely because he's part-time then it's ridiculous just as it was with McGlynn/Murray. He's the better goalie and I'm sure he'll be playing eventually.
