How about the David Bates transfer. 

Dropping McGurn for a season defining match at East End Park. 

Voting to reduce the number of teams in the old Premier Division the season we were in a relegation battle.

I'm going to predict that hiring a manager who's longest stint in management was with the tampa bay rowdies can shortly be added to that list. They did beat the riverhounds at the weekend though...

Iain Munro for as shite a manager as he was did bring in a couple of decent boys from Scandinavia, we just couldn't afford them long term. 

There are definetly similarities between that season and current events. Hopefully this is where those end.

Aye the Rovers way, ever since 1963 when I think we experienced our first relegation, we've bounced between leagues like a yo-yo, we must be high on the list of the most relegated and promoted teams in Scotland

Pick of the bunch for me was Kent Bergersen, who after a quick google search, I see is the assistant manager of the Norwegian international team.

Definite similarities, seen by outsiders as a harsh dismissal and a real gentleman by all accounts at the time.

My decrepit memory thinks it was somewhere in that region. It really was the end of the glory years when Mickey went. 

Regardless of who followed and how much they spent you were never getting players of that quality again. 

We let Jimmy the Janny loose with a phenomenal budget played the old firm away in the first 2 games and that was all she wrote. McLean lasted 8 days then it was a panicked appointment of Iain Munro.

That seems harsh, it wasn't a bad Alloa side and the only reason you were in the position to win the league was because Alloa had just beaten Ayr.

You only signed him to a one year contract which at the time seemed silly, not because it was too short, but because everyone thought he was horseshit. The drama being that as soon as he looked decent and you tried to renegotiate the player had all the power, in that regard a non promotion clause was about as good as you could have hoped for. 

Again, very annoying but I don't think that those in charge got it that wrong.

He'd been dropped (wrongly) weeks before tbf. 

Anelka, Goodwillie & Stevenson in goals are the worst I remember, on the flipside I reckon you made bookies a fortune with everyone lumping on Ayr -1.

A lot of ifs and buts let's just see what we have in store.. we may get brown amd stanton back..Vaughan starts hitting the net..and it all turns around.we go on an 11 game unbeaten run...who knows..I doubt it ..but who knows..I don't think Murray sacked when he did was a good decision ..also not giving mcglynn a 3 yr contract also. 2 mistakes. Hopefully collins works out..but I really can't see it...tbh...team..low in Confidence. Age against us. ..1 dimensional. No fight...no shots...low goals..need to do something drastic to turn it around..

I'm personally very excited about the potential of us bringing in absolute scuddies from the US pub leagues.
