Alert Mongoose
I see this type of musing all the time, most recently in the Ayr thread as an example. There are ten teams in the league- why do some teams' fans deserve better and be top of the league. By definition therefore some fans deserve worse - why? Are there any other footballing statements you find confusing?

Are there any other footballing statements you find confusing? "early doors". The f**k does that even mean?? And are there LATE doors somewhere that nobody ever bothers with? First heard it years ago from that voice-of-a-football Derek Johnston, who used it constantly. Reason enough to dislike it, obviously, but it's such a stupid expression in its own right.

CountryBumpkin
"Something something left foot", never hear the same said about right footed players. And worst of all, the absolute misuse of "just about". As in, the keeper "just about kept that out" after making a save. Left feet are only ever "cultured", "favoured" or "weaker".

Thistle_do_nicely
I sort of get it, but an opposition manager making excuses for failing to beat a team that have a player sent off early enough that it should make a huge difference (more forgivable if its late in the 2nd half). Things like "Well, after the sending off they just sat in and put everybody behind the ball, which makes it harder to play against" It doesnt mean you should expect to scud the other team 10-0, but ive found it incredibly frustrating whenever its happened against us and we cant find a way through, cant mind the last time but i reckon it happens reasonably often.
