I have to confess I had no intention of going until the seriousness of our plight persuaded me.. Everything I'd heard dissuaded me. Reminds me how lucky we are to have a nice wee stadium suited to our needs. Put covers over the terraces and it would be near perfect. It took me a long time to love Forthbank after Annfield but looking around we are in a far better position than some.3 points

If him being dropped for one game meant he was out of the picture, scoring twice in a row must mean he’s on fucking fire.3 points

This is where I am at. Buckie clearly haven't covered themselves in glory. However, it appears that the licensing team have cut them some slack, then pulled the rug from under them. Ludicrous that Buckie weren't given an unambiguous ultimatum of what they had to do and by what date. Also crazy that it got so close to the wire. Yet another embarrassing episode from the clowns at Hampden who gave us the Conference proposal, the Cinch fiasco and many other screw ups over the years.3 points

Is the person who wanted a stand ticket for her mother here today? It’s pretty clear. I can’t get a lift so I’m not moving from my house. I can give you my ticket if you get in touch.2 points

Looking at this game and the table it never occurred to me that any Ayr fans would be thinking about relegation. I would have thought with Arbroath already relegated the fight to avoid the relegation play-off is between Inverness and Queens Park. Although arithmetically Ayr could be involved it would take a really strange run of results for Ayr to be in the relegation play-off. Inverness have two difficult games against Dunfermline and Morton and Queens Park face Airdrie in their final game. I don't see all of these games going against you. Look forward to seeing you again next year in the Championship.2 points

Six degrees of Kevin Bacon. I've seen the EE adverts but never knew the back story until I listened to the programme on Radio 4Extra. Kevin Bacon's Game of Fame - Kevin Bacon's Game of Fame - BBC Sounds2 points

What a segment handled so well. Amazing to see the footage of some of the play that day that was lost due to the tragedy but man it brought back a lot of the emotions.2 points

Land in Edinburgh is expensive and likely to have a hotel or student halls built on it. The ordinary Edinburgher doesn't get a look in now in Scotland's Disneyland. Decent facilities for native Edinburgh people?! Ha! Try buying an affordable house on the average Scottish wage and you'll find why a lot of ex-Edinburgh people are travelling into work from Fife and East, Mid and West Lothian now. The debacle regarding banning the Ultras for making too much noise also doesn't fill me with confidence that any other football ground wouldn't be subject to petitions from greeting faced busybodies. The Council don't like noise unless it's a concert at the Castle or a Festival Fringe event. If a rich and particularly benevolent billionaire whose favourite colours are black and white is out there then I'd build something at Shawfair as there's a station there and it's quite handy for coming off the by-pass and there's a big housing estate planned there. Saughton Enclosure could conceivably be converted into a fairly decent wee ground too (even better if you rip up the running track there on the grounds that there's a perfectly good one at Meadowbank so f*ck off you twatty athletes)2 points

I agree, that given the climate in Scotland you can’t always predict weather etc, but you can give yourself the best possible chance of finishing on time (remember this is about having to go beyond the date the league was due to finish). In regards to cups, I agree it does feel like you’re punished for being successful, but there are things that could have been done to mitigate this. And on Broadwood availability, the league have decided that all finals are to take place at Broadwood, they don’t have too, and alternative venues could be found if availability is an issue. It is nuts it is scheduled for this weekend when we are not going to get the league finished by the original date. Kennie had a hard job herding the cats to get the league done, but more could and should be done by the wider league to make things easier. There is no 1 size fits all and clubs are always going to be disadvantaged (had always been that way) but we shouldn’t be in the position where clubs, could, be given an unfair advantage.2 points

We really needed Airdrie to be 3 or 4 goals up by now. Looks like the league is slipping away.2 points

This made me very uncomfortable. I don’t want to be unkind to Gillian MacKay, events like this must be difficult. But there seems to be a massive outpouring of emotion over all this that’s seems out of kilter with what has happened.2 points

Why would the SPFL continue to engage with Buckie as recently as Tuesday and Wednesday with no mention of having missed the deadline and the playoff about to be canned. It’s just overly officious and unnecessary to throw up a missed deadline of weeks ago which is also fairly irrelevant given they were in the process of addressing all areas of concern.2 points

Having read these recent posts I'm marvelling at a national sport which dispenses summary judgement for bureaucratic infractions of a minor nature, yet remains mutely inactive about decades of singing about being up to one's knees in ****** blood. Remarkable, quite remarkable.2 points

Your points are all good points but there is no way you can tell how well clubs will do in cup ties or how the weather will be over the winter point 1 you play some midweek games at start of season and get knocked out all the cups in the first round with no weather problems and your finished early point 2 The west of Scot cup final is being played this weekend as it’s the only date that is safe for playing at Broadwood because the ladies teams play out of there and they presumably will have priority point 3 The 2 leg semi finals are okay as long as you are not in other cups that are being played around the same time and you are involved in them also point 4 It looks like if your club is successful in cup ties and get through to the later stages of all the cups you are punished for being successful there is so many scenarios that change every season and not always the same clubs involved that it’s very hard for the fixture secretary to predict and with lots of restrictions on dates etc that are hampering the process. If you have an Astro facility for example most of your games will be on and if you have lights that would help also but then you have that the 2 teams have to agree any fixture swaps which doesn’t help either if a team has 3 games left and a team has 10 games why would the team with 3 agree to a swap and let the team with 10 games be forced to play 3 games in 7 days although there is some who would like teams to be playing Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday which in our new professional set up doesn’t make sense and there is nobody in the SPFL who would do it but that’s what some want senseless1 point

How many grounds have you visited with a dog? I had (temporary) custody of a dog once, a ridgeback cross called Martin. I did what I thought was best, and took him to a Penicuik game. Unfortunately he lurched towards a boy holding a pie and devoured most of the pie before we could say “bloody hell Martin, you’re faster than Stuart McKean (aka Snowy)”. The pie was replaced (by me, not Martin, frankly he took no ownership for his difficult behaviour), and we all went about our day. Penicuik probably lost 2-1. Anyway I would very much like to see Sam, and Jon, get their picture upon the Hampden museum. Let’s get this done!1 point

In theory somebody could win HL or LL year-after-year, apply for neither a bronze licence nor grace/waivers, and gum up the works. It could be got round by HL altering their rules to say only clubs holding a bronze licence in advance can be champions (no chance of that passing IMO); or SPFL & LL agreeing to alter the collective rules and allow runners-up/etc. to enter playoffs instead (ditto). In theory such a club could ultimately lose their licence - and thus be relegated from HL or LL - if their attitude was considered "failing to engage in the pyramid" or whatever the exact wording is. In practice though Buckie would be bronze licensed today were it not for this delay getting a doctor to attend home games or getting a derogation. Indeed they might have that bronze licence in just 3 weeks.1 point

That game was meaningless for us, but it the CIS had won, and scored at least twice, they'd have been guaranteed qualification for the semis. (A 1-0 win would have done in the end them since the Netherlands beat Germany.) It's all a bit Glorious Failure, I know, but the team deserve a lot of credit for the performance that night.1 point

Have you actually read the requirement? "The club shall nominate a Board / Committee member who has lead responsibility for equality in the club. The club shall publish a public commitment to addressing inequalities and preventing discrimination. This should be published, as a minimum, on the club website. The club shall establish and implement a policy for equality, which shall include provisions dealing with harassment and unfair treatment. This policy shall be communicated throughout the organisation." So, they need to nominate one individual, and do a bit of cutting and pasting of other folks' policies. Hardly a nightmare, is it? Maybe a couple of hours work? Also, it's the same requirement for entry level, so they should already have done it.1 point

I don't believe I mentioned postponements at all, however the state of your pitch at a Broomhill game is the worst I have seen at any level for many, many years. I believe there are pictures on here somewhere of it.1 point

It's complicated. He was a key player and I can't remember any injuries until November 2021, which he was inexplicably started against Celtic at Hampden 2 days after being in Japan for a friendly with Canada. Unsurprisingly he got injured and that was him until about September 2022, when it was kind of clear his prep was all about being fit and available for the World Cup in November. After that he never really played much again as Callum Davidson flailed wildly about chucking shite at the wall trying to make something work by changing things every week. MacLean came in and was faced with having to eviscerate the squad Davidson built (30+ senior players, £1.8m loss) to make us sustainable again, and when two of the higher earners are 30+ and playing the same squad role (Carey, Wotherspoon), and one is out of contract and one isn't, then he didn't have much choice but to let him go really.1 point
