The Falkirk FC Thread

Just seen this on the BBC so no idea if it is true, but says they won 22 of their 42 games in charge? For Falkirk in the third tier, that is a pretty humming record.

That's bound to give the BBC ammunition to berate their sackings tonight.

Not only are they just a point off top place, but had a 50% plus win rate.

Mark Kerr is available and has just the kind of track record Falkirk seem to be attracted to.

Replacing McCall with Kerr was as bad as anything we've done in recent years. The next few weeks will tell us  how bad a feck up that really was. Getting humped by four nothing by  Arbroath  doesn't bode well if Ayr end up in the playoffs.

Surprised that Dunfermline ended up so poor this season they looked like they were a decent side finally at the start of the season.

Odd things concerning this announcement:

a) I follow FFC on twitter, and get alerts for every tweet they ever send out... except this one for some reason.

b) I see auld Jean is on the FB page coming out with "I hope you lot are happy now you got them sacked".

Kind of worrying that some people, with strong links to the club, think that a bastion of happy-clappiness like the FB page, has sufficient power to get managers the the tin tack.

I'm happy to tell Jean 'Aye'

The older women won't let a bad word be said about the likes of big Lee and Cracks. We could be bottom of league 2 and they still would want them kept on.

And they're perfectly entitled to that view, in the same way I'm perfectly entitled to rant and rave on here during every game

Peter Grant well talked of on the Alloa thread. Playing a decent style of football, remember what that was like? God, what id give for us to string 4 passes together. That’s how bad it’s got.

He'd certainly not take any shite that's for sure.

I've been thinking that. As much as they got relegated, they never appeared to play terrible football. Would be interesting to see what he done with a team expecting success.

Think he lives reasonably locally too. see him jogging in dunblane quite a bit. Alloa gone down but by all accounts did a good job with them.

Should have decent contacts too. Last two punters to move from their to bigger clubs have done no bad either.

How old do you need to be to be one of these older women?

Anyway, I'm feeling pretty sad about the whole sorry situation. The correct decision was undoubtedly made today. Arguably they should never have had the job in the first place and the ultimate blame lies at board room level. Watching Falkirk over the last few seasons has been utterly painful and I really can't see light at the end of the tunnel with the current decision makers in charge.

Cheers it's not letting me in. Maybe I got banned from it without realising or something.

I still have no idea why I got banned from the 'main' COYB one!

I suppose we're thinking that PG leaving Alloa at the end of the season is just a coincidence? Or something that could be in the pipeline?

I think you lot would be daft not to approach him at the end of the season.
